Joyful Joyful..

Surprising! To realise that my last post was in July, 2010! Quite a long break :( Blogging, was so close to my heart and I wonder what made me refrain from it for such a long time.
Though I was idle, there were quite a lot of transformation going on, within me! I Praise God for that! Despite how much we know God, how much we try to be holy, there are many values that we learn, by just watching God act in us. There were a few struggles, obstacles! I tried to fight back, pre plan, devise counters but ultimately failed! I fell down, totally devastated, with all my pride, power, skills, totally wiped out! I gave up the battle! It took me some time, to realise that I have my Father, to whom I can cling on to even in my darkest hours! I fell prostrate at His feet. Then realised, there can be nothing more powerful, than simply letting God do His will! Even in the darkest hours, when nothing seems to be in place, when nothing is happening, God is still working. Remember, there is still an unfinished part of clay, waiting to be finished into perfection by the Potter :)

Blessed be the Lord… There has not failed one word of all His good promise. 1 Kings 8:56.

God is ever faithful…

Sometimes I wonder why there was such a gap since the last post. Well, the actual fact is, Joshua simply wouldnt eat anything. I was upset, terribly upset :( This stopped me from writing / blogging.
Joshua is now 1 year and 10 months old – Phew.. amazing, on how days just run. It has been a long way though and I am able to remember every milestone that he crossed. Now, he talks and communicates all that he wants very clearly. :) How wonderful, God’s creation is!!! There is a meaning for all that we undergo, isnt it? There is a preparatory phase and then a period to master it. I learnt this with an incident. Joshua always crossed his milestones ahead of time. By the time Joshua was 8 months old, he started walking with support, so naturally I expected him to start walking by 9 months. I waited and waited. He didnt seem to walk for another 4 months. I was terribly upset and one fine day I decided to take very serious step towards it. I made George stand in one corner of the house and he directed Joshua to me. For a few initial rounds, Joshua wasnt very much interested and then he caught it. As time went on, he started taking independents steps – such a happy moment for me & George as well.
Had Joshua started walking by 9 months, may be, I wouldnt have realised how special it is, to watch a baby walk and there by glorifying God’s Holy name!!

My plants werent doing good either. I lost almost 6 – 8 pots / plants after the monsoon rain, thanks to our watchman – who had dumped the clay soil in it. As a result, the water didnt drain and plants were rotten. It was torrentially raining and I couldnt do anything about it :( Its very hard to see it all die :( :( So updates on garden – later!!

The latest addition is a fish tank ;) To begin with, I only have Gold fish. I will be adding on many more fish tanks, at least to make Joshua eat :)

Vegetable Garden Updates

I havent really given a proper update on my vegetable garden. Well, it actually came out well, even better than what I expected. I had good harvest (!!) especially with Spinach and it gave us a fresh supply every week for Joshua. I recently got rid of it, since I couldnt resist the pests that were around. The Ladies Finger grew up fast and we had a few ladies fingers in our curries & sambar. The bitter gourd turned out to be a flop with the watermelon suppressing the rest. I actually didnt know that it was watermelon :( I curse my ignorance!! The worst part was the presence of some white powdery substance. I am yet to find out what it is and the ways to control it. My immediate response was to get rid of those plants to save my other inmates of ‘Shalom’. As of now, I have started the veggie garden again with Spinach.
I thank God for the works of His marvelous hands, for the variety of vegetables He has provided us with! May the Great Lord bless our efforts. Amen

Being an Eco Warrior.

I am back! It might look like I was hibernating! The fact was, Joshua fell sick repeatedly and he needed much of my attention. I couldn’t think of anything else other than his health. He has recovered now. I know that I havent kept my promises, of uploading his snaps. Please bear with me, as you have always done.
I have a lot of things to share with you all. Most important one is that, I have joined the Eco Club – an initiative run at my office and I am so proud to be a part of it. We had a meeting today, to discuss the action items for this month. They had earlier organised a ‘Tree Plantation Day’ and we are expecting a Potted Plants Show this month. We had a good response from our colleagues and the results are encouraging. We send out eco related mails to create awareness. I really appreciate with the way our company is taking up the responsibility for this social cause. I would also encourage other companies to do so. I have started taking up a few steps to be an Eco Warrior. I read that blackle saves energy, as the screen is predominantly black and that it is powered by Google. There was a request, asking the viewers to spread the word. I was so convinced, that I have made blackle as my homepage. With this, every time I open a new IE, I help in saving energy. I would recommend you to do this as well or include the following in your email signature – Blackle.com – Saving energy one search at a time.
We have planted 2 Gulmohar saplings right in front of our apartments. Its my prayer that, God with His abundant mercy will bless the effort of our hands and help it grow :)
I shall give you the other updates, in my next post!! :) Have a great day!!

Easter Vacation & Garden Updates

The trip to Nagercoil for Easter was great. We were surprised to find it heavily raining, in contrary to the scorching heat at Chennai. Joshua was too busy, going out for bike rides with my dad and entertaining people ;) He simply didnt look for me :( I fell sick on reaching Chennai. I was down with fever and Low BP. I am fine now after two doses of tablets.

My Garden updates goes like this…..3.

ChrysanthemumThis was how my Chrysanthemum looked a week back, just before the vacation. Its a lot different now, having lost its bloom n vigour. canna-lilly I got this from the local nursery and I just love it.
Coleus I am so fond of Coleus. It grows so easily with not much care. I love it for the varied colours it comes in.

There are two more additions to my ‘Shalom’ garden. A dwarf Ixora and another Rose (Yellow colour). Another happy news!! I have started the vegetable garden by sowing Ladies finger, Tomato and a few other seeds. The progress is in fact very good.
